One of the most favored farming systems among the agricultural experts and farmers today is organic farming; This farming system is favored as it is known to produce safe and healthy food. With growing awareness, there has been a rise in the demand for organic products. This farming system is very beneficial to sustain a safe and healthy environment. The biggest positive of organic farming is that it works in synchronization with the nature and not against it. Thus, the techniques involved in this system are directed towards achieving better crop yields and quality without damaging the natural environment and the people in it. Organic farmers employ the methods and materials that retain and build good soil configuration and maintain the fertility. It makes use of composted and recycled crop wastes along with animal manures.

The benefits of organic farming are dependent on the right methods of soil cultivation, inter cropping or crop rotation, use of green manures and planting legume crop. Mulching and crop cover are also considered to be healthy measures that are used in organic farming. Pest control is achieved through careful planning and the right choice of crops and the use of resistant crops, good cultivation practices and by practicing crop rotation. The encouragement of useful predators that eat up the pests is also supported by organic farming. These steps increase the genetic variety by employing natural pesticides to get rid of disease and weeds.

Instead of pesticides and other harmful chemicals, organic farming uses natural methods for insect control that make the plants grow in safe and protected environment. Due to this reason, the fruits as well as vegetables that are grown employing organic farming methods are very nutritious. The comparison and distinction that is done by chemical pesticides’ advocates between the organic and synthetic weedicides and pesticides is illogical. Weed management is an interesting aspect of organic farming, through this method, large areas of farms can be easily controlled from weeds. Weeds are thus not eliminated, but farms are managed in such a way that the practices support weed control and also provide overall farming benefits.

Inter-cropping and usage of different types of crops in rotation is a significant practice within organic farming. The products are produced from a single land under this scheme. Due to the plantation of different crops that are planted on a single land, the vital natural properties of the soil are maintained. The practice of crop rotation helps in sustaining the soil fertility, irrespective of climate and the manure used. The mixed farming approach that helps to break the succession of pests in the soil also helps build the soil fertility.

Organic farming uses organic manure that makes the soil productive helps yield crops that are of better quality. The natural manures that are used include cow dung, waste from animal or plant sources, sewage slush, etc. Bone meal, fish meal or natural potash, saw dust or wood chips that are unprocessed also constitute organic manures. A lot of research has been employed in the field of organic farming, and a lot of knowledge has been used to build this as a practical choice for the farming community. Organic farming yields a better outcome and is more fruitful as per scientific research. Organic farming is ecologically advantageous and most sustainable farming option.

Mahendra Trivedi who is considered to be the Master of Transformation has conducted a host of experiments in the field of organic agriculture by using The Trivedi Effect to increase yield without the use of chemical and harmful inputs. In India, two of the highly reputed agricultural institutes namely Dr. B.S. Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth in Dapoli, Maharashtra and BHU in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh have helped in carrying out these experiments and the results were very positive with increase in both yield and quality of the produce.
